SHARAKAT Launches the Fourth Edition of the SHARAKAT Awards to Recognize Excellence in Water Sector Projects

SHARAKAT has announced the launch of the fourth edition of the SHARAKAT Awards, an initiative designed to recognize outstanding organizations involved in water sector projects and associated infrastructure, promote a culture of excellence and innovation, and showcase best practices and achievements that contribute to improving project efficiency and long-term sustainability. In this edition, the Awards will honor project companies for their achievements during 2024 and 2025 across nine award categories covering financing, project delivery, operational, and development-related aspects.

The Awards reflect SHARAKAT’s commitment to fostering a competitive environment that encourages excellence and inspires organizations across the sector to adopt practices that enhance performance, improve service quality, and strengthen operational efficiency. The Awards also promote innovation, sustainability, and local content, contributing to the long-term sustainability of projects while maximizing their economic and developmental impact. In addition, the Awards aim to highlight successful models and outstanding achievements in water projects, recognize contributions that have advanced the sector and enhanced the reliability of its services, and encourage knowledge sharing and a culture of excellence among stakeholders across the water sector.

The Awards feature nine main categories spanning the entire project lifecycle, from project financing and financial close to the delivery of desalination and wastewater treatment projects, as well as the operational performance of desalination and wastewater treatment plants. Additional categories recognize achievements in sustainability, innovation, local content, and social and community impact, reflecting the comprehensive scope of the Awards and the diversity of areas in which excellence is recognized.

SHARAKAT invites eligible organizations to submit their applications during the registration period, which opens on 15 July 2026 and closes on 30 August 2026. All submissions will undergo a comprehensive review and evaluation process based on defined criteria focusing on excellence, achievement, and impact, ensuring that the most deserving organizations are selected in each award category.

The winners will be announced during the SHARAKAT Awards Ceremony, to be held under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, on 19 October 2026. The ceremony will bring together representatives from government entities, partners, investors, and water sector professionals to celebrate the outstanding achievements of project companies and recognize initiatives and best practices that have contributed to advancing the sector, enhancing its efficiency and supporting its long-term sustainability.

Through the SHARAKAT Awards, SHARAKAT reaffirms its commitment to strengthening public-private partnerships and promoting institutional and operational excellence across water sector projects. The initiative supports national development objectives while reinforcing the position of the water sector as a vital contributor to economic growth and quality of life.
