Who we are?

SHARAKAT is a leading entity in the water sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is owned by the Ministry of Finance. The company was established in alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to enhance partnerships between the public and private sectors in water infrastructure projects through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework.

SHARAKAT serves as the principal buyer of all types of water, from both public and private sector providers. The company also initiates and manages contracts for water and wastewater projects, transmission pipelines, and strategic water reservoirs.

In addition, SHARAKAT provides specialized advisory services in privatization, project development, and contract management, contributing to the advancement and sustainability of water infrastructure in the Kingdom.

SWPC History

Establishment of the Water and Electricity Company
The decision of the Higher Economic Council No. (5/23) dated 1423/3/23 AH was issued to establish the Water and Electricity Company as a joint venture between the Saudi Electricity Company and the Saline Water Conversion Corporation.
2003
Expanding the Company's Scope of Work
The Cabinet's decision No.(494) dated 1438/8/5 AH was issued to expand the company's scope of work as the principal buyer of desalinated, treated, and untreated water with the right to sell it, in addition to dual production.
2017
Launching the Identity of the Saudi Water Partnership Company
The Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture launched the new identity of the company, "Saudi Water Partnership Company," and developed its five-year strategic plan to enhance water supplies in a competitive manner, increase local content, and encourage private sector participation.
2019
Updating the Strategy to Expand the Scope of Future Projects
The company's strategy has been updated to meet the needs of future projects, with the addition of strategic storage projects, transmission lines, and collection networks, as well as providing consulting services that include infrastructure development, project design, and and project execution management.

Launch of SHARAKAT’s New Identity
The development of SHARAKAT’s new visual identity was introduced as part of its updated strategy, reflecting its commitment to strengthening the partnership model, enhancing integration between the public and private sectors, keeping pace with the evolving water sector, and expanding its institutional impact.
